This is the final and commemorative issue of the Evangelical Presbyterian Magazine. In it’s pages you will find a collection of articles which look back over the history of the magazine and reflect on the help and blessing that it has been to our denomination, and beyond, over the course of its 97 years in print.

The 'First Word' article has been kindly written by Rev. Dr Derek Thomas, who was editor of the magazine from 1981 to 1996, overseeing some 141 issues. Mr. Harold Gibson, another former editor (from 2005 to 2012), has provided a previous article of his for reprint on the theme of 'Joyful Worship'. We are extremely grateful to Mr. Ernest Brown, who has written a thorough history of the magazine for this edition, and who also provided much help in gathering a collection of articles from early on in the life of the magazine, written by W.J. Grier and James Hunter, which we republish here for your interest and enjoyment.

Thank you, reader, for your engagement with the magazine over the years, and I trust that this final issue will be a suitable 'send-off' as we transition to online communications in the days ahead.

As the Evangelical Presbyterian magazine comes to its conclusion, plans are coming together for the launch of a new EPC website, due to go online to coincide with the Presbytery Day Conference in May 2025.
